American history
American historians agree that for many decades, there has been a tendencyamong Americans to find new places and resources so that American individuals can be able to progress in life. Since the beginning of America as a nation, Americans have explored new lands and territories, so they have established new territories for them. For this reason, Americans have expanded all over the world trying to find new resources that enable them to survive in a competitive world.According to American historians, for many years, American society has showed that Americans tend to search for new places where to live and sources that they can exploit. The Frontier in the West was an opportunity for many Americans to explore new horizons and to look for new resources, so due to that fact, many Americans traveled all the way to the far West in order to establish new communities and obtain resources that could enable them to acquire more revenues. However, after the Frontier was settled, there was a desire from Americans to expand overseas so that they could obtain new resources overseas, "For over two decades after the Civil War, the United States expanded hardly at all...Several developments helped shift America att
According to American historians, after possessing Hawaii, Puerto Rico and controlling the Cuban and the Philippines economies, America under the administration of McKinley issuing the Open Door Policy in China that consisted on " three principle:Each nation with a sphere of influence in china was to respect the rights and privileges of other nations in its sphere; Chinese officials were to continue to collect tariff duties in all spheres; and nations were not to discriminate against other nations in levying port dues on rail road rates within their own spheres. However, one problem still remained regarding to the Philippines, since the Philippines wanted to become independent. Indeed, foreign trade opened the doors to America so that America could survive in this competitive world. Further, American soldiers not only faced disease problems, but also racial tensions among soldiers because white soldiers were fighting along black soldiers, by which, a large number were black Cubans. For many years Cuba was a territory of Spain, but in 1895 Cubans were seeking independence from Spain. So, by the early 20th century America possessedHawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico. But, by 1895, there was a conflict in Cuba, in which the United States intervened. Then, after seizing the Philippines, America defeated Spain in Cuba as well and on July 16, 1898, Spanish ground forces surrendered and on august 12, an armistice ended the war, "Under the terms of the armistice, Spain recognized the independence of Cuba and ceded Puerto Rico and the Pacific Island of Guam to the United States. Consequently, Cubans rebelled against Spain. At the beginning of this conflict America didn't intervene, even though, it was believed that the Spaniards were committing atrocities against the Cuban people and America was neutral for long time. In addition, at time that America was fighting against Spain in Cuba, America sent troops to the Philippines, since the Philippines was a Spanish territory, however, America didn't have many problems defeating Spain in the Philippines. In the 20th century America became a world power, by taking advantage of foreign trade. Furthermore, the islands of Hawaii and Samoa annexed to America, since the economies of these islands became dependent of the American market.
