The Story of Ernest Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway is viewed as the most influential writer of the twentieth century (Timeless Hemingway). In his 63 years of life he worked for the Kansas City Star, became a World War I hero, and wrote award winning novels. Hemingway goes down as a giant in modern literature and after reading this paper one will see why. Ernest Miller Hemingway was born on July 21st, 1899 to the parents of Clarence Hemingway and Grace Hall Hemingway (Ernest Hemingway Biography). He was the second of six children. Ernest Hemingway was born and raised in the prosperous Chicago suburb of Oak Park, Illinois. In Oak Park, Hemingway attended Oak Park public schools. He wrote at least one journalistic piece a week for the school newspaper, the Trapeze, and was later its editor. After graduating in 1917 Hemingway moved to Kansas City to live with his Uncle Tyler Hemingway. He spent seven months with the Kansas City Star covering all sorts of things from drug raids to war recruitment efforts. After his short stint with the Kansas City Star he decided to enlist into the United States Army. Due to his poor vision he was not allowed. He then decided to drive an ambulance f
