Macbeth

             In the tragedy Macbeth, from the greatest English writer, William Shakespeare, the main character Macbeth is a noble general who goes through major changes throughout the story. These changes only occurred when he first saw the witches who told him that he can become the king if he kills him and his selfish wife, Lady Macbeth, who provokes him to become a devilish man. There are 3 character Macbeth goes through. He went from good to bad and to worse. In this essay, I m going to write about how greediness and a mistake changed the life of a brilliant man.
             General Macbeth is a loyal, and brave general who fought for king Duncan. "This supernatural soliciting cannot be ill, cannot be good. If ill, why hath it given me earnest success, commencing in a truth? I am a Thane of Cawdor"(I, iii,130-133). Macbeth thinks that the supernatural site was not just a coincidence. It meant to happen and it happened to tell Macbeth that he is the future king. He knows that if he kills the king, he is going to have to kill more people resulting in more consequences and nothing must go wrong. There are 3 reasons why he does not want to kill the king. "First, as I am his kinsman and his subject, strong both against the deed. Then, as his host, who should against his murder shut the door and not bear the knife myself"(I, vii, 13-16). This shows that Macbeth knows he works for a great king Duncan and king trusts him and so he cannot betray the king. He also respects him.
             At the beginning of the play, father of English, Sr. William Shakespeare portrays Macbeth as the most noble person in Scottish land. But as the play progresses, Lady Macbeth pushes all the limits of Macbeth and creates the monster who then goes from the honorable person to depraved Macbeth.
