Hitler (Why Little Opposition)
The period of time during the 1930's was a time of poverty and power. It was during this time that a man named Adolf Hitler came to power. But Hitler's power did not come easily. During his rise to power he faced much opposition such as the communists, colonies and other parties; even losing the election to Hindenburg was an obstacle that he faced. Despite these problems, Hitler used Consolidation measures, State Security Agencies, Domestic measures, Propaganda, Foreign Success and even the much hated Treaty of Versailles. The following paragraphs will look at how Hitler used these ideas to minimize the amount of opposition that he faced. One of the reasons of little opposition that Hitler faced was because of the consolidation measures that he put in place. Anti-intellectualism was one of Hitler's main consolation methods. Because of Hitler's personal hatred of Jews, much of his idea including anti-intellectualism was linked to his anti-Jewish beliefs. Through this, Hitler decided that he wanted Jews to be excluded from German academic life. He did this by attacking all sorts of intellectuals from the Jewish community and burning books from the libraries and schools (Book burning as seen above). Furthermore, all books that wer
By then he was Supreme Commander of the army, Chancellor and the president of Germany. ** NB: All Black on Whites pictures were from SOURCE A and the coloured map was from SOURCE G! ** . Hitler promised to get Germany back on its feet. This one-party was the Nazis and all public buildings from then on flew the Nazi symbol; the 'Swastika'. For those who didn't support Hitler, he used his state security agencies as force. e to be published from the on had to be approved by the 'Ministry of Propaganda'. By reaching out to the unemployed which was pretty much the entire population, he gained their support. All Germany's colonies were to be given away and they had to pay heavy Reparations to France for the damages that they inflicted and they were stated as solely responsible for the war. This meant that less German people had to be used in the labor market and more people could be recruited by Hitler for his army. Much of the propaganda that he (Hitler) used was closely related to his book 'Mein kampf' and the anti-Jewish/communist beliefs that it contained. Concentration camps were located all around Germany during Hitler's rise to power. The disobedient were thrown into prison and thus creating fear in his men causing them to be more obedient.
