What are the causes and implications of the Israeli and Pale
The cause of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is the agenda of Zionism claiming ancient land rights as the basis for the movement established in 1897. The implications of this policy cause the central grievance of the Palestinian people, their oppression and displacement at the hands of Jewish immigration and migrations. The establishment of the state of Israel after the second world war by the United Nations has seen this oppression of the Palestian people intensified as Israeli expansionism continues to the present. The role of the US in the Israeli/Palestinian issue has consistently supported Israel and needs to be amended if peace is to be achieved. The history of the Israeli and Palestinian struggle extends from biblical times and is now "one of the most enduring and explosive of all the world's conflicts" . The land that now encompasses Israel and Palestine has been conquered and re-conquered throughout history. The Zionist Israeli claim extends back to 1250BC when the Israelites first began to conquer and settle the land of Canaan (Palestine) on the eastern Mediterranean coast after Moses had 'led his people out of Egypt' . Until this time the Jewish people had no land and had wandered the desert for forty ye
Zionism, the cause of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is based on flawed logic. By "2002, Mossad in concert with the Special Forces of the Israel Defense Force had carried out many hundreds of assassinations of leading Arabs, particularly within the Palestinian community, thus giving the distinct appearance of having decided that, in the absence of a negotiated peace, the planned and wide-scale use of assassinating their Arab opponents was a viable, if temporary alternative to all-out war" . By 1995 the settler population had again nearly doubled reaching approximately 145 000, (excluding East Jerusalem) . If Zionist claims to a Jewish 'homeland' in Palestine, based on Jewish 'history', then so to are the claims of the North American Indians and the Australian Aborigines . If the Israeli claims to contemporary Palestinian territory are according to ancient or historical pretexts of ownership then so to could be the claims of every grouping that has ever invaded, conquered or ruled this disputed region . Perhaps this is because the Jewish consider their "journey is an epic one, from dim and unpromising beginnings to empire to the loss of home and dispersion throughout the world, from Hebrew to Israelite to Jew, carrying with them always the promise that the one God would protect and preserve them above all others" . At this time more than 90% of the Palestinian population were Arabs and there were no more than 56 000 people in the Palestine area and no more than5% of these were native Palestinian Jews . These Israeli settlements are illegal and are condemned by the United Nations (UN) and their human rights body has called on Israel to end settlement activity on Palestinian land and stop work on building a barrier in the West Bank . But many Palestinians live in fear of an unforeseen health crisis-particularly at night or when they are somewhere far from medical attention- which would mean that they would have to travel through a number of checkpoints to get to hospital. The Canaanites, the People of Palestine, could counter claim a history in the region dating back 10 000 years ago to the building of Jericho by the Arabs . gave Isseries of extraordinary laws and regulations were established to gain further land from the Palestinians to the Israeli's. The Allon Plan settlement policy (adopted by the Labor government) of Israel in 1967 included the occupation of Sinai, the Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank including Jerusalem . The next significant wave of immigrants arrived between 1904 and 1914 . The representatives in Palestine accepted the plan tactically because it implied international recognition. This created 21 settlements along the Jordan Valley and the eastern slopes of Samaria.
