Classification and division

             "In the beginning, God created man. Then God said, "It is not good for man to be alone; I shall make him a helper fit for him. So the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept, he took one of the ribs and closed up it's place with flesh; and the rib which the Lord had taken from the man, he made into a women and brought her to the man." Thus, the woman was created. (Genesis 2;18-24)
             Since God created women, the roles that they have played throughout history have changed continuously. Societal gender roles in a myriad of cultures have depicted women as merely homemakers, and mothers. However, in recent history, women have taken charge of their lives, creating Women's Rights Movements that began in the 1840's, and achieved the right to vote with the 19th amendment in 1920. Following these large steps for emancipation, they also began to work outside the home, and were able to contribute money to the family. "Today women are now the majority of the electorates. They also receive fifty-five percent of the nation's college degrees. Women today also own more than a third of the businesses, and make up nearly half the students in medical and law schools"(Social Glacier Roles, New York Times Magazine).
             Needless to say, the way that women function in America has changed immensely since the creation of their being. In today's society, the four preeminent roles that women play are: friend, professional, wife, and a mother. Each of these roles is diverse in many aspects, but have several beautifully feminine characteristics that shine through, making each quality a treasured one.
             Often, there is one overlooked character trait of a woman. This trait is that a woman can be a friend to everyone in her life. A woman is a friend to many people that may cross paths with her everyday life. On occasion, she may become a pair of listening ears to an individual she sits next...
