             The similarity between fiction and non-fiction is vastly distinctive. Fiction films are all about non-reality, invented stories to amuse the audience while non-fiction films are all about the truth of reality that is supposedly real so the audience can engage and interact with it.
             Apparently, documentaries are included in the non-fiction segment, but after all that is done to produce a documentary, it is hard to include documentaries under that segment. The defining feature of making a documentary is that at every stage of the production, the subjects are clearly distorted. This not only includes the artistic touches it takes to give the film a sense of structure, such as editing, narrating and framing, but also the choices of being subjective and the mere act of filming it. These constructed elements share the same coherent meaning with fiction films and thus separates documentaries from its original position. Since both fiction and non-fiction films apply these techniques to their production, documentaries can be suggested to be fictionally constructed.
             Fiction can be used to express truths about the real world, and documentaries can be used to obscure truths and construct falsehoods about reality. So if fiction and non-fiction can be altered to fit reality, and that fiction and documentaries can somewhat be said to be similar to revealing the truth, then to say that fiction and documentaries are similar in sharing reality can be determined.
             The filmmaker's role in producing a documentary unambiguously places the film at a greater distance from reflecting reality. Instead of bringing positive means to evaluate the artistic expressions of the film, other problematic mediums will deter the filmmaker's choice in presenting the film.
