Choosing College
When deciding on a college to attend after graduating high school, numerous details were considered leading up to my decision. Many aspects of different colleges were evaluated based on their importance regarding my future. The main factors which determined my decision to attend Tulane were the location, academic excellence, and football program.Tulane University is located roughly an hour from my hometown of Lacombe, Louisiana. The idea of remaining close to home greatly affected my decision to attend a school within the state. I was raised by my grandparents and feel their nearby support will be greatly beneficial to me throughout my college career. With such a close proximity to home, my grandparents, as well as other family members living in Louisiana, will be able to easily attend my football games as well as visit me and support me in my studies and other athletic events. My family has always been a significant aspect of my life and remaining near them is something which will always remain important to me. The nearby location, academic and athletic excellence are the key factors that have confirmed my decision to attend Tulane University. I look forward to using my athletic abilities to help the football team as a whole achieve success and I intend on devoting myself fully to the betterment of myself as an athlete as well as a person in general. I am very appreciative of the opportunity I am being given by Tulane to better myself and prepare myself for the future. Throughout my visits, the coaches and players at Tulane made me feel more comfortable and part of the team than any other school I had considered. Coming from a close-knit and supportive family has helped me in many ways throughout my life and I believe remaining near the ones I love will help me become successful throughout my years at Tulane. I am aware that commitment is an important aspect of being apart of a team and I am willing to devote my time and effort into the Tulane University football program. I have always put a great amount of effort into my academic career and plan to carry that work ethic on with me to my upcoming years of college. I am excited and honored by the opportunity Tulane has provided to me in playing football and publically representing their school. Another accomplishment I am proud of is receiving an athletic scholarship to be apart of the Tulane University football program. My father attended Tulane University from 1990 to 1994 and graduated with a degree in computer science. My academic achievement at Tulane, however, will not be easily accomplished and will require a great amount of hard work and dedication, which I will be undoubtedly able to provide. I look forward to continuing my higher education at Tulane and am proud to have the honor of attending a school with such high academic quality and recognition. He won many honors and recognitions playing football for Mandeville High School and went on to further his football career at Tulane University.
