What does it mean to be a consumer?

We consumers have mixed motives about shopping and spending money. Because most people have a limited budget, most people have to be careful how to spend their money. Therefore, responsible spending becomes an important issue. A consumer is a person who spends his or her money according to some choices based on some allegation. Consumer behavior is influenced by many factors: cultural heritage, perceived value of goods or services, economics, and interpersonal exchange. Some people might spend their money without any care for its consequences; others might spend it more carefully. Advertisements are made in order to motivate people buy products. Even though people work hard in order to earn money and make themselves a living, they have a responsibility to help and be supportive of the less fortunate. An ad in Newsweek magazine issue October 22, 2001 is a good example of responsible spending. It is an advertisement for a commemorative issue of Newsweek magazine. This ad consist of a picture of the cover of the Newsweek September 2001 issue. On that cover many people are gathered in memory of the 9/11 incident. Most of the people have tears in their eyes and are holding American flags. Th


Some people might think he is very emotional and over ethical. He wanted to sacrifice his time and do some actual work instead of being ripped off by companies and businesses. They target the very important values such as philanthropy and humanity. Furthermore people might ask how we are supposed to know the victims of 9/11 will get the donation. He wants everybody donate an extra 200 dollars in order to help people in poverty. " There is also written, "price includes one dollar for disaster relief. Some people might not buy the idea behind the 9/11 ad. " On the cover page with large white font is written, "The spirit of America. Newsweek advertisers clearly know what they are doing and how they are doing it. People's sense of patriotism, moral values and humanitarian purpose most likely would make them buy this issue, whether or not they really need it. People are shopping patriotically at that time. After reading the small text, I learn this gathering is for the important historical and unforgettable event, September 11, 2001. His argument is that shopping is not an appropriate way to support the country, and instead he felt unnecessary products were being sold to him. He describes that what he is supposed to do as a duty and what he really feels are very different.
