John D rockefeller

He was born on the 8th day of July in the year of 1839, in Richford New York. He was one of the five children that his parents had. During his childhood years, he looked up dearly towards his father. John D. Rockefeller's father was a traveling salesman teaching young boys how to make money. His mother was a woman with strict moral characteristics. John D. Rockefeller was a quiet, shy young man who loaned money to different people. In the eyes of others, he was quite the disciplined young man. Some of his known traits included having the ability to save his money. He was never the kind of person who would spend wasting his money on unnecessary things. Some of his hobbies included reading the bible at night. During his 20's, he was well known making his money through his grain, and meat business. His business did very well, since it was during the time of the Civil war. In 1850, America first discovered oil in the state of Pennsylvania. In the year 1863, John D. Rockefeller decided to take investment on the Samuel Andrews' oil refining business. In the time span of two years, John D. Rockefeller business's was known to be the largest refinery. Most of the time the government won the lawsuits, and in result in broke up many trust. During his service, Theodore Roosevelt used the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890 to file legal suits against 44 trusts. At the time of his campaign, which was called the New Freedom, he mainly focused of stressed individualism and state's rights. His campaign was often being compared to Theodore Roosevelt's campaign due to high similarities. The nine trustees included Rockefeller and his eight of his business partners. These trusts included beef, steel, sugar and tobacco. Other business companies called John D. After having knowledge of the Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, Theodore Roosevelt highly got involved in the passage of the Drug and Pure Food Act. When Theodore Roosevelt got involved, the law soon became very successful. Rockefeller Oil trust were among the targets. This gave them the right to have dividends in the business, although trust would soon follow. He was known to be the person that attended the Supreme Court to mainly break up business monopolies. This was a big change due to the fact that most of the time the government stayed clear out of business affairs as much as possible.
