Descriptive Essay

             Everyone at some point in their lives have that one picture, that one memory that takes them back to that same time and place. In high school for some people it might be that exciting at the edge of your seat basketball game, a class field trip to an amusement park with your fellow classmates, or the high light of your junior/senior prom. For me the one fond crystal-clear memory of high school that brings me back to the special time and place in my mind was the night I graduated.
             I graduated from Sacred Heart Jr.Sr. High School in Carbondale, on June 9, 2002 with a small class of 16. I remember getting out of my tan Toyota Camry and having that lump in my throat and constant feeling of anxiety. As I proceeded to walk towards those big double brown glass doors a warm breeze brushed a crossed my face. As I entered the hall way I paused for a moment and took one last look of the familiar surrounds that have been in my memory for the past twelve years of attending this catholic school. I slowly walked past the two pale green walls; I glanced at the dark brown wooden cross that hung on the left side of the wall closest to the door, and I held onto the cold black steel banister and proceeded down the two flights of grey concrete stairs. As I grew closer to my destination I heard voices of my fellow classmates and teachers preparing for the final touches. As the clock struck 6:00 p.m., I anxiously waited for the
             moment I would stand tall and proud and finally get my chance to walk down the aisle. For one last time I walked up the 2 flights of stairs and all I could feel is the warm summer breeze sweep across my body and my soft silk royal blue gown brush across my calf. As my classmates and I proceeded to the Church all you could hear are the cars in passing beeping their horns and the music of the grand piano coming from inside.
