Crusader

             For all of us in this country it is easy to describe what American culture is based on, but the people that make up the nation behind these traditions, and symbol is so diverse, and confusing sometimes, that people around the world including those that live in this country have difficulty agreeing on many of the issues that plague this country. Nevertheless the make up of the state in itself is much like that of St. Augustine's times, or can even be compared to the adventure seeking crusades of Peter the Hermit.
             You could argue that our American for Fathers, that included many of the brightest politicians, inventors, and philosophers of the Western World struggled against the odds to build a stronger more prosper nation. For many people who traveled to the New World leaving everything behind seemed to be the best thing to do in order to find a better life far away. For others it was difficult leaving every thing they had lived for behind to an unknown world. In a broad point of view you can compare most ancient societies and see that revolt because of oppression results in the same outcome. Like the infant stages of the United States development, new nations are born with new ideas that reflect, and pull away from the hard policies of other nations. Like many of the same ideas Augustine, and Constantine faced with the Roman Empire, the United States has also had to face the hardships of diverse religions. Those whom led the Roman Empire learned that controlling so much territory would lead to problems when it came down to religion. Christianity was broken down into many different ideas; it did not have the strength to define itself as a religion. In this country it has been difficult from birth on the religious state of its people. Knowing the diversity of the state those who were involved in bringing together the constitution realized that religious freedom was necessary in order to help the nation survive.
