Police Brutality

As we know there are many cases in which people had been victims of racism. In addition, these cases of racism can be sometimes expressed in acts of brutality. Indeed, these cases of racism are based in bigotry, religion, race, and so on. In fact, these cases of brutality are committed usually for those who are in power like police officers. As a result of these acts, there are people and organizations that began a political-fight against those whom abuse the rights of those who look, believe, and seem different from them. However, we can establish that some of the cases of police brutality are based on racism, so we have to discuss the problem, causes, effects, and possible solutions for these acts.Police brutality has become a prominent issue which caught the attention of the people in today's society. In fact, we have Rodney King's case; this case was very famous because in his case were showed how police's misconduct can be very harmful. Also, in this case it was obvious that this brutality was based on racism. As Peter Schrag, author of Dragnet,± says that on March 3, 1991, Rodney King an African American was pulled over for speeding on a highway. King disobeyed police authorities

Some police officers are using race and ethnicity as the basis to search for suspects. He then drove to the police station to report the incident. One of these treaties is International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). According to Police Brutality,± both Tysha Miller and Donta Dawson were shot to death as they sat in the car but only in different incidents (13). If authorities do not do anything to improve this situation, then all the money spent in justice± is wasted. For example, the one given by William A. C States Healing Process after Brutality Case,± states that Abner Louima a Hispanic immigrant who was arrested by a police officer in Brooklyn, New York. The reason why this happen, is because the law is not prepared for this kind of conduct. This survey proves that nearly all minorities have negative thoughts about police officers performing their duties where white Americans' case the opposite holds. For instance, as Bolton and Feagin declared, the bad behavior is the distinctive police culture that develops in most historically white departments± (16). It is well known that the police brutality is not punished as it should be by the United States authorities. As insisted by Walker, Spohn, and DeLone, young minorities also have negative views toward police officers than do middle ages or elderly. Why are police officers still committing these acts of brutality? There are many explanations for this.
