Frankiln Delano Roosevelt

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the Unites States. He was elected president on March 1933 while the Great depression was taking place. He died during his fourth term, just before Germany surrender in World War II. He was very optimist person, that not even when he suffers an attack of poliomyelitis that paralyzes his legs for ever didn't let that that brings him down. The optimist that he showed to people helps him to help the Americans survive the economic crisis and WWII. He is considered as one of the most controversial leaders. Some thoughts that he didn't had the strength to lead the United States at that time, because of all the problems that was suffering. He tried his best to end the depression, but the results of his worked showed until 1939 and 1940 when prosperity return. Franklin was born on January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, N.Y. James, his father, was descendent from Nicholas Roosevelt. Sara Delano, her mother, married James. Franklin came from a wealthy family. He had a very secure childhood. He had a half-brother, but he was an adult when he was just born. So his parents had enough time for him, and loved him very much. He discover a passion for sailing


He defeated once again the republicans. Alfred Smith pressure Franklin to run for New York governor. Attending to Harvard he fell in love with a distant cousin, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt. By this time he was a little bit sick. She always felt rejected, until Franklin started paying attention to her. The new deal was giving hope to the people. He considered himself that he could adapt to different circumstances really quickly. He challenged again Tammany in 1914 for U. The "new deal" was almost the same for what he fought when he was New York governor. He fought for reforestation, old-age pension, insurance for unemployment, certain hours for women and children's to work. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
