Not that long ago sports used to be clean. I don't know if you can say that about today's game. Players from all different sports like: Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantel, Willie Mays, Bob Cousy, Pete Maravich, Bart Starr, and Walter Payton were all clean. They were proven athletes that never needed illegal substances to make them better. They played there games honest. A lot has changed since then. Flash forward to sports today. It's totally different, you can't turn on the T.V. without hearing something about professional athletes running off at the mouth, attacking fans, or even using illegal drugs to make them stronger and faster. Recently a couple of players from the Oakland Raiders tested positive for THG steroids. Four players had there urine tested and it was positive, however there was little consequences for this. There were not even any suspensions. The NFL's players association is also trying to challenge the league's right to retest those players. This is not the only case of steroid use in sports. Also in the MLB's there have been several players that tested positive for THG. Players like Jason Giambi and Barry Bonds will never be looked at the same and many feel Bonds' records shou

People don't like to see fake athletes play the people like to see real pros play. There is a reason for it being illegal. It messes with there body and brain because there body is still developing but if an older man takes it, it won't be as bad as if a young boy takes it. The damages can be permanent on a young teen athlete. Both Barry and Jason were both connected to the Balco scandal. Most old and young athletes don't think about the side effects all they think about is how big there muscles get or how fast they can throw a ball. More than half of the retired baseball players admitted they have been using steroids and now they have a lot of serious problems. If younger teens take steroids they can get addicted and it will damage there body muscles and also there sex organs and the nervous system including the brain. Bonds did not know what to do or what to say because he felt so guilty accepting that award and he knew that he didn't deserve it. Every 5 years there are going to be different kinds of testing athletes for steroids. Over half of the baseball players are taking steroids because they need the money to pay the bills and other things. Police also raided his San Mateo house, taking two of his computers, his cell phone, and lab records to try to find out whether or not he was the leak. Most of the baseball players don't really care if they hit a world record they just care about the money. The reasons why pro athletes take steroids are because they want to win and they want to try to be better then everyone.
