An Inside Look at Child Molestation

             "Like everyone, Polly had her own dreams and plans for the future. But for now, she was in her own bedroom on the peaceful night of October 1, 1993. She invited two friends over for their very first slumber party and all three girls were immersed in the joy of being away from their parents for a few hours. Until that awful moment when evil, for which there is no name, made its way into Polly's life. At 10 p.m. that evening an intruder, high on booze and armed with a knife, crawled in through an open window. Within minutes two of the girls were tied up and left watching in terror on the bedroom floor.              One of the sickest crimes that have ever been committed is child molestation. It rips lives of the victim and the victimizer apart. It creates a seemingly never-ending cycle of pain and sickness. What is child molestation, who are the perpetrator, and how do the victims react to the tragedy?
             To molest is to annoy, disturb or persecute especially with hostile intent or injurious effect; to make sexual advances, especially to force physical and usually sexual contact; to disturb or annoy by unwanted excessive, or malicious interference. This sickness or disease is called Pedophilia. Pedophilia is a perversion of sexual expression in which children are the desired objects.
             One of the most memorable cases was a transsexual posing as a foster care mom. Kevin J. Simon, 37, who had been living as Anna Hart, originally faced 115 charges of sexual abuse toward teenaged boys ages 14 to 17, who said they thought Simon was a woman. Four charges were dropped at his preliminary hearing and another 99 were dropped in exchange for a guilty plea.
