Career paper

             When we were first introduced to this project, we were informed that we had to pick a career an research it, and most of the kids knew what they wanted to me. I was not to sure what I wanted to do, and there was a lot of pressure on me to at least pick something to research. That is part of why I am doing this paper though, even if I am not 100% sure of what I want to do, I can use this paper, research a couple of jobs and see which one would fit me best, or if I wouldn't want to do that job at all. I am also doing this paper to get a plan, of what it would take to get in the career I am interested in, how much education, what money I would make, and all the other things that would go with that.
             The career that I chose to focus on first was Video Camera Operator. I came up with this job after doing all of the assignments in my careers class. I took all the things I know about myself, all of my likes and dislikes, using the interest inventory to see what I was interested in. Then I looked at the career clusters and saw what categories I was most interested in, then looked at the jobs listed under the clusters. Then I looked at the rating traits and saw if I had the traits that I would need to be in this specific career. I also looked at the assignments I did, like the Abra-ca-dabera im 5 and 35, and looked at what I wanted to be when I was little and if that still interested me today. If not that specific career maybe something in the same field.
             To get an even better look at what having a job like that would be like, we are required to do an 8 hour Job Shadow, so we can actually see what it would be like to work a day in the job we are researching. Also we can ask someone that has been doing the job for awhile, questions that we have about the job and we can get someone with first hand experience to answer them.
