Why are African-Americans are now earning college degrees?
"The mind is a terrible thing to waste." This is a quote from the infamous Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ever since the civil rights movement in the 1960's, African-Americans are now becoming more motivated to move up in society rather than to stay in the position they were in, which were being under-achievers. African- Americans are now more than ever earning college degrees because we are putting God first in our lives, developing a sense of priorities, and placing themselves in a positive environment in order to achieve success. Our young black people can accomplish anything we want as long as we keep God first in our lives. A person cannot be successful in life without having God in his or her life. God represents a guiding light, keep your focus on him, and you will not get lost in the world. For this reason, God can open door for a person to enter the path of success. Just like a lizard in a green area, it will eventually camouflage with its environment in order to "fit in" with its area. It is relatively the same with human; people want to "fit in" with the people who they think are cool, but they are just hindering themselves from receiving their education. If Jesus was not uncompromising with Pilate and the Jews, then he would have got down the cross, and we would still be in damnation. The point is, in order to achieve, you have to sacrifice the frivolous things that doesn't contribute to education, and take the path of success. Statistics show there are more than 100 million people of African descent living throughout the Americas. Just like with dieting, too much of one food can harm a particular person. We're developing a sense of priorities. In order to be successful in life, there must be a sense of priorities in one's life. and Malcolm X were not uncompromising about black rights, the civil rights bill would not protect black freedom and rights. Also, we are placing ourselves in a positive environment in order to achieve success. The point is, to make these heroic people successful; we must be heroes like them and continue the cycle of improving our future, starting with education. Amen! I feel that African-Americans are now more than ever are earning college degrees because we are putting God first in our lives. It started with biblical figures such as Jesus. Relating this to education, too much talking on the phone can affect study habits.
