Have you read the book Brave New World or seen the movie Logan's Run? Well if you have only read or seen one of them I would recommend seeing the other one. They both have a lot of similarities. Each teaches you important things. They each involve conditioning. Age, beauty, and appearance also play a big role in both. Basically your life is based on beauty in both. In each there are no families but each have a different way how they were born. As you read this paper you find out more similarities and how some do or don't relate to our lives and what we can do different.
             Brave new world they conditioned everyone when they were young. They learned what to like and what not to like. Also soma was a big part of there lives. If they used soma it was like a drug that made you crazy. In Brave New World they didn't get old they went to the hospital of the dieing. They did use sleep teaching when the children were younger. This was a tape that would be playing over and over again. They were taught to hate the country this was everyone would live to work in factories. When we watched Logan's run they didn't really believe in conditioning. Except they all had a crystal in there hand. What age you were was the color of your crystal. You also dressed the same color as your crystal. Once it gets to red it will start blinking counting down your time until it reaches 30. Then it is your time to go to the carousel and get renewed.
             The fear of death wasn't as important in Brave New World. They were conditioned when younger to like death. When they were kids they got ice cream and candy at the hospital of the dieing. When they do go to the hospital of the dieing they die silent. Logan's Run some did fear death. Once they did reach 30 some did run. A lot were caught by a sandman but some believed in reaching sanctuary.
