Admission to Frostburg university
I first learned about Frostburg University from my uncles who attended in the early 90's and I've been wanting to Frostburg and follow in my uncle's foot steps ever since. I am also attracted to Frostburg's sprit of selflessness and giving. I have earned 247 community services hours during my high school career and, if possible I would like to continue my volunteer activities in college. I earned these hours at several different places including two day care centers and a sleep away camp.
When I returned for my last year of camp I was a CIT. As a CIT I was responsible for helping to feed the campers and cleaning up after dinner while also participating in camper activities. I would be very interested in being apart of this program or starting a program similar to this once admitted to Frostburg University. zed activities for the kids, and provided a positive role model for some of the inner city youth. I have heard of programs at a few colleges where students with kids have the opportunity to drop their kids of at camps run by volunteers so they can attend there classes. I plan on giving back by volunteering at after school programs, at neighboring elementary schools and YMCA's in the area. During my college experience I plan on giving back as much as I can to the Frostburg community. I am not sure how much free time I will have to volunteer once I start attending classes but I plan on giving back as much as I can and still enjoy my college experience. CIT is an abbreviation for counselor in training. I was a camper there for a number of years, so I knew the staff and the majority of the campers. However, volunteering at Camp Saint Charles, the overnight camp was the most fun I ever had as a volunteer. While I was working at these day cares I was usually in charge of the younger groups of kids and discovered that I enjoy working with little children.
