Israel's Dependence on the US

Harry Truman wrote as he wrestled over the decision to recognize a Jewish state in Palestine “What I am trying to do is make the whole world safe for Jews” (qtd. in Ratnesar 1). Truman desire was to give the Jews land to call theirs because of the Jew persecution in WWII (Ratnesar 1). “God put you in your mother’s womb,” the Chief Rabbi of Israel later told Truman, “so you would be the instruments to bring the rebirth of Israel” (qtd. in Ratnesar 1). The Jews dream of a country for them was finally at arms length with Truman’s choice but worries of Marshall was also recognized (Ratnesar 1). The United States support Israel with military arms and economically (McArthur 1). The donations given by American Jews show the importance of Israel as their point of comfort for Jews (Heilman 1). Jews use Israel as a comfort zone for the origin of their traditions.

The Holocaust identifies Israel as a hurt nation due to the punishment done to the Jews. The United States began selling arms to Israel to increase their military might in the Middle East (Bard 2). American Jews gave their lives as volunteers to help return Jew refugees to their land in Israel through a British blockade of Palestine (Heilman 1). The United States will have to insure that the Jews will be safe from all enemies (“The Good War” 2). The Jews fear becoming a minority in their own country. For an efficient economy in the United States the need for an inexpensive oil source is essential (“Why the United States…” 1). The high gas prices in the United States are a major reason for a need of control of oil sources. Israel has received as much as $700 million dollars worth of the United States military technology (McArthur 3). The Jews use the Holocaust as a way to gain sympathy from the world and to spread it as an evil deed in any way possible (“The Good War” 1).

Oil sources are a great benefit to the economy of the United States.
