Tearin up my heart
The song "Tearing Up My Heart" by N*Sync represents the struggle of love. The singer is being emotionally hurt because the one he loves does not feel the same way toward him. He is trying to figure out why she does not want a relationship with him. Like he says in the song, "Baby I don't understand why we can't be lovers". This song conveys a negative version. The title itself aids this i . . .
I do not think there are any cultural values or opinions shown in this song. Whether it was the impossible crush or "just friends" relationship, almost everyone has dealt with this and found it equally as hard as the singer describes it. Even young children associate the heart with love. I agree with the song and I think many high school students can relate. The biggest symbol of love used is the broken heart. In part because this music is widespread and can not be specific to any culture. Looking at this song critically helped me understand the meaning of it better. This makes the song easy to understand for all ages. This song is a good example of how love can be hurtful. The heart is the most known symbol in present society. The singer is depressed and will be that way until the girl gives him an oppurtunity. The words tearing up my heart is a perfect explaination for the feeling someone goes through in this situation. However it does not sound as if the girl will allow him to prove his love.
