Peter Simson's Farm

             First entering the bush Peter Simson settled into the job watching the sunrise, and as a lumberjack near his farm he watches the trees falling back which as he described with a smile as " A few Thousand giants crashing against a secluded jack!"
             Peter Simson was so keen to do his job that you were able to hear the ring of his axe through the bush the echo of his axe "CHOP CHOP CHOP" on even the most scorching summer days. Where the great gums would whisper and the birds would chant to the sound of the workmen's horses roaming throughout the paddocks. With the wind rustling through the corn blades as the sun descended into the east, this as it was the end of Peters day, with every move his muscles felt mighty and strong; this was a sign of a job well done.
             Day by day Simson worked the stubborn forest, hacked and the never-ending trees with a tireless might then returned home to a cheerful greeting and hugs from his wife and children. Then soon retired to a comfy bed and slept soundlessly through the night. He would rise early the next morning to the magpies singing happily to the sun. Then he would depart from his wife and children along for another day's hard work.
             At the base of the hills, the dry although sometimes flooded stream was divided by a dogleg fence that Peter had built himself; he was amazed that somehow it managed to stay upright and separate the hills from the valley.
             After a very long and tedious day, Peter stopped on his way home by his favourite creek to stop for a cool and refreshing drink. Peter often wondered of the secrets that this creek would reveal if given a voice and as he pondered this a sound as sweet as the water filled his ears. It was his wife singing her favourite tune while she prepared the meals for his family, and with a loving sigh he follows the hypnotising smell of meat, three veg and fresh crusty bread back to their cottage to retire
