The taming of the tooth

Taking care of your teeth is of the utmost importance. Keeping them pearly white and healthy not only raises your self esteem and gives you good breath, it also acts as a barrier to many other diseases. Teeth are meant to last one's entire life; the key to keeping them for the long haul can be summed up in one word maintenance. Good maintenance can easily prevent the most common dental problems: tooth decay and gum disease. Tooth decay can occur anywhere on the surface of teeth, but it is most common on the chewing surfaces of teeth, near the gum and in-between teeth. Brush and floss your teeth after you eat. If this is not treated immediately, it can lead to the spreading of the disease and cause your teeth to fall out. Leave at least 2-3 hours between meals or snacks. Now that's something to smile about!" . Avoid sweets and other sticky carbohydrate foods which are not good for you, especially when you can not brush soon after eating them. Don't give babies a bottle containing milk, juice or formula in bed; this is not good for their little teeth. The diet drinks are not a high risk for dental cavities, but the tooth enamel may be affected due to their high acid levels.
