Titus
This is my knowledge of the book. So far, what I don't know could fill a book, and thankfully enough, it is (a book). From what has been read so far, this is the author of this papers understanding of this book so far. The story takes place in Roman times during the Mongol wars where the Romans are taking every part of the earth that they can get their grubby little hands on. The story begins in the middle of a public building where Marcus Andronicus, our main character's brother; Saturninus, the former emperors eldest son; and Bassianus, the former emperor's youngest son, are discussing political issues like the war that is presently going on, and the emperor's sudden death. While they are talking our "hero" returns with sacrificial prisoners, who are part of the royal family and all direct relatives of one another. One of the prisoners is the queen of the Goths (the people the Romans are fighting). She has heard that she and her sons are to sacrifice in honor of the brave Roman soldiers that fought in the war against them. She pleads from per
It isn't too hard to read, but it is still tough enough to be an all-time classic in my, and other people's minds. The queen curses Titus and his sons, as Titus's daughter enters. PREDICTION After reading Hamlet, and knowing the outcome of that play, as well as the knowledge that most plays of Shakespeare are tragedies, I predict that someone is going to be framed and/or killed for their wrong doings and/or lies. The part of the play upon which I make my assertions is when Saturninus and the Goth Queen wed. When Titus sees this he is outraged, and kills his son, Mutius, who is helping them in their escape. The prisoners are taken away from their mother and return as blood spots on the heals of Titus's son's sandals, or whatever they wore back then. Scary huh? However, if I must, then I must. I picked up this book thinking it would be an easy read, even though Shakespeare wrote it. Bassianus, on the other hand, claims that Lavinia is his betrothed. In private she tells her hubby that it is just for show, and that she is planning to use their trust to kill them in revenge for the murder of her sons. You were right, from what I have read so far it is a top-notch book and will remain in my mind as long as I can remember it.
