Career
My personal career goal consists of three parts. I have divided these three parts into the short-term goal, mid-term goal and long-term goal referring to our learning on strategic thinking. My short-term goal is to graduate this school in two years with accounting degree. My mid-term goal is to become a certified public accountant, and my long-term goal is to become a top executive officer.My short-term goal is go have bachelor degree in accounting from CSUN in two years. To obtain this goal, there are several things that I need to do. I need to maintain my full time student status which is to have at least 12 units per a semester. I also need to have good study skill so I can keep up my GPA while working part-time off campus. Working while taking accounting classes is hard but it is possible if I use good study skill to use the time
My ultimate goal of becoming an upper management member requires me to have a MBA degree. Despite spending several years learning English, I still tend to follow the Korean writing patterns while writing in English. As soon as I become an eligible applicant, I will take the GAMT test and apply for UCLA's MBA program. I certainly have chosen a very fulfilling and exciting career path for myself. After receiving my MBA degree, I would like to go back to Korea and work as a representative for a U. As a licensed CPA, I believe I will have plenty of job opportunities. To be eligible to apply for MBA program, I need to have at least one-year working experience and pass the GAMT exam with a desirable. For example, there is high demand for accountant so I do not need to worry for not be able to find a job. In order to acquire CPA license to practice the job nation wide, the applicants need to have one-year general accounting experience and 150 semester units, including 24 semester units of accounting and 24 semester units of business. One is that a person must practice in California and the other one is that a person can practice their job nation wide. On the other hand, I can attain many benefits from my career goal. As an international student, I believe that second one will be a more suitable choice for me. For example, as an English second language student, writing has always been the biggest challenges to me. Thus, I can be able to take care of my parents and let them enjoy the rest of their lives.
