Rap.. Offensive
103.5 Kiss F.M. all of today's hit music... or is it today's most revolting music? Some people like it, some people think it's "Okay", and some people are completely outraged at what they say. A couple songs are all right, but then the other ones are degrading and have a negative influence on most listeners. The ones that aren't degrading and have some kind of a bad influence are either disturbing, or not child appropriate. I think they should add some restrictions to what they can say but not a lot because this IS a free country. Rappers have their rights to freedom of speech and the people aren't forced to listen to their song, freedom of choice. When children hear the things on the radio they often think that it is okay to do what the singers say because they're rich, some how respected, and they make it seem that it's alright to do what they say. Many children or teenagers started to take drugs, drink, or even commit suicide because they heard things like that on the radio. The rappers or hip hop singers don't notice what they say or what they do just for money. They make kids start doing things like swear, start fights, and do badly in scho
I enjoy listening to music a lot, but I want to be able to listen to it easily without being worried that my parents might change the station because it's not appropriate, but I also don't want to listen to the oldies and radio stations like that. Today, most songs are becoming worse and worse, not they are getting a bad beat or something it's what they say about women and how much they degrade them. Those words will make the child want to say all those words and could get in trouble in school, home, or any where else he might be which could cause his academic reputation to die down because teachers will think he or she is a bad kid. I personally think children shouldn't listen to this, but you can't make them not hear this because if you don't hear it in your car it might be a person in the other car, somebody with their headphones really loud, or other kids at school saying the lyrics to the song. I even tried not to pay attention to the lyrics and I still couldn't listen to them. I believe they should add some restrictions but still keep in mind that this is a free country and singers have their rights to say what they want to say. Lindsay Lohan's "Rumors" says that people spread rumors about her; Good Charlotte's "I Just Wanna Live" complains that wherever they go people bother them and won't let them go on with their life. Not all songs are degrading and have bad influences, some are good but they swear in every single sentence. Not all songs are inappropriate, some make sense, make you think, and make you wonder about things like how it would be if you were a famous person. I don't understand how people like those songs at all. Other songs from other singers also sing about their freedom that they don't have freedom because they're famous. That's one of the reasons why I think they should start making stricter restrictions on the radio. Those are the songs that first came to my head. The most recent song like this is "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent. He talks about girls and such and the video is horrible.
