Values of technology
To first study the predominant values that shapes technologies in our present society we must first define the meaning of technology and the system. A technology is not necessarily an object or a device it can also be the know-how technique of doing something. A system consists of multiple independent components working towards a common goal in an organized way. In our present society there is one main value that shapes our technologies as in our transportation / housing system, our economic system, media / communications and food. That main value is money. Every single of these system works toward one goal and it is to make as much profit as it can from the System. For example in the transportation system when the cars are introduced to our society and one buys a car it is not over. One must buy the right tools to use in the cars or for it. Or for instance the UN rules forces countries to adopt its system if not then it will not allow it to lend money from other counties.With the Use of the right Discourse the Economist, Politicians were able to convince people to believe what they heard in a way that wasn't exactly what they really meant. And new technologies like cars that will pollute less are not very common in our society because of its price. The meaning of this term means that we transform the food into a product to make as much profit as we can. Other than our transportation system there are other problems caused but other technology such as personal problems like stress and depression. There are many ways of which these problems can be solved. For example, for people who can not afford to live in the city will decide to live outside the city for cheaper housing and they will buy cars for transportations. Depending on one's education one will know the right decision and can also tell someone's about it. It is not only the car that causes all the pollution but even some of the electricity that we generate is by burning coal and this is a big polluter. People in this society will start to value more the economics system and work more and harder to make enough money to survive. This is the meaning when we say technology as a mind set. Another example of the use of such discourse is when it comes to spending money on military weapons; instead of using billions of dollars on improving our environment the government uses the more for "military defenses" by using the words such as military defenses it changes the peoples mind about spending billions the defenses but in reality none is really used for defenses but more on the offense. Economy is a reason that encourages the people to buy cars for long distance transportation. And in order to do that we add chemicals to it in order to last longer and sometimes to improve its taste. But when the war was over the family farming farms were being killed because of the overproduction of tractors so people decided to move in the city.
