Interracial Marriages
Interracial marriages are one of the biggest conflicts in the United States today. It's one of the biggest conflicts because everyone has their different opinions on interracial marriages. People have their different opinions because some say people shouldn't marry outside their race and others say it doesn't make a difference. From doing research I learned that in the 50's and 60's it was against the law for any interracial relationships. Now today the law has been changed. People now can marry or have any type of relationship with anyone of any race. Research shows that there is no grounds in the bible that prohibits interracial marriages. Some people believe that interracial marriages are prohibited in the scriptures. Children of interracial marriages are sometimes discriminated against
The parents must provide secure role models with which the child can identify. In some states the law has just recently in the passed few years been changed to allow interracial marriages. Children born of interracial marriages tend to produce reactions of quilt, insecurity, anxiety, and emotional instability. To resolve the identity crisis the parents have to discuss openly how they will raise their children. because Virginia still upheld the law which stated interracial marriages were illegal. In my own opinion I feel that it doesn't make a difference. Some of the problems force couples to take drastic measures to cope with them. Interracial marriages can include the union of Asians, Hispanics, Blacks, Whites, and other groups. More extreme or dangerous behaviors are less common. The literature on the problems interracial couples encounter suggests that their space and magnitude is fairly wide. The charges could have been dropped against them only if they promised to leave the state for 25 years. The biggest problem in interracial marriage children face is an identity crisis.
