Cleopatra
Cleopatra VII's life has been proven to be very interesting, but also weird. The Ptolemies and Cleopatra were very clever at manipulating people. Cleopatra also had many affairs with men such as Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. Cleopatra was born in the capitol of Egypt, Alexandria in 69 BC. Cleopatra was the daughter of the pharaoh of Egypt, Ptolemy XII, who was also nicknamed Auletes, and his Queen, Cleopatra V Tryphaena. Cleopatra V was Auletes' sister but it was perfectly normal for those of the Ptolemaic dynasty to marry their sibilings. Many people may think it is very gross and wrong, but what they don't understand is that they were in a whole different time, in their day and time it was just normal. Cleopatra's father wasn't a strong ruler at all; he was actually pretty weak. He was also proven to be a heartless ruler. That is why in 58 BC he had been overthrown by the Pleblians. In 55 BC he had regained his thrown and had his daughter, Berenice and her husband beheaded since they had taken over after he was overthrown and then ran off to Rome. Cleopatra had five sibilings. She had two younger brothers named Ptolemy XIII and Ptolemy XIV. She had two older sisters named Cleopatra VI, Berenice, and one younger sister n
Caesar didn't listen and he went to the capitol. He was so angry, saying that he was betrayed. Octavian thought that Cleopatra was a threat to Rome. He did come back to her later too, to ask her to feed his men and round him up a fleet. She had been proved to be very weird to marry her brothers and have tons of affairs, but she had an interesting life. His wife, Calpurnia was trying to tell him to stay home since she had bad dreams of him dying. Truth was that it was Octavian that was Caesar's real son and heir to the throne. A while later Cleopatra had given birth to her eldest son Ptolemy XV also known as Caesarion meaning "Little Caesar. Antony also wanted to know why Cleopatra wouldn't choose sides in the war that followed Caesar's death. For it was Octavian that had convinced the senate to declare war on Rome. " Not many knew if Caesarion was really Caesar's son but Caesar recognizes him as his son only because he really looks like Caesar. The other reason was because he didn't want people to been looking at him and saying, "Oh, there is Caesar. In the mean time he had gotten married to Octavians sister, Octavia. The next day, Ptolemy saw them together.
