Schindler's List

             The Jews during the holocaust lived thought a very tough time as shown in the movie Schindler's List. First all the Jews had to be "registered" and were forced to wear the star of david. They were thrown out of their houses and businesses and were forced to live in ghettos. After a while the Jews were kicked out of the ghettos and forced to board a train to a labor camp. While at the camps the Jews were treated like crap. They were forced to work very long hours. They were given very little food. They had to sleep on hard and cramped wooden bunks. The bathrooms were just holes in a piece of wood that covered a pit where all the waste went. The Jews were also killed for no reason. In the movie, at one point, the guy shoots a woman just sitting on the steps to her bunk. He also shoots a boy who did nothing except that he can't clean the stain out of the bath tub. Some of the Jews were sent to a death camp called Auschwitz . Here, like in the movie, all the women were forced to strip and get all their hair cut off. They were then sent into the showers, at least they were sometimes showers like in the movie, other times they were smoke chambers in which they were poisoned and killed. At the end of the movie we again see how the Nazis had no compassion for the Jews. Trying to cover up the events of the holocaust because they are loosing, they dig up all the Jews that were killed and just burn them all. They try to get rid of the evidence.
             I think that Schindler was willing to help the Jews because he really saw that they were people and that they were being treated so badly. He realized he had the power to save people who were wrongly being murdered. I think when he saw the little girl with the pink jacket walking around the ghetto when it was being evacuated, he really realized how the Nazis were killing people as innocent as a little girl and that he needed to do something.
