The French Revolution
The French Revolution was a moderately large event that happened in the late 1700's. Most aristocrats were sentenced to the guillotine. Many tried to escape but most didn't succeed. But before I go on, I must tell you what I'm going to talk about. I'm going to talk about the French Revolution, Marie Antoinette, and Louis XVI.The events of the French Revolution were definitely not pretty. Almost nothing could have been worse than the bloodshed, the guillotine, most everything! Many people were taken captive. At the jail doors the guards asked, "Do you have any bells? (money)" If the answer was yes, then a jug of water and a basin was handed out. If the answer was no, the guards would say, "Well, so much the worse for you, but you don't get anything with nothing." But it got much worse than that! From the beginning of the 20th century until the 1970s, the French Revolution was most commonly described as the result of the growing economic and social importance of the bourgeoisie, or middle class. She was one of the 16 children of Maria Theresa, archduchess of Austria and queen of Hungary and Bohemia, and Holy Roman Emperor Francis I. Unlike so many royal couples, her parents had married for love and truly enjoyed family life. From the beginning, the thought of the guillotine, the aristocrats, and the reason why they were executed struck me as interesting. Without it, there might be tons of kings and queens in the world in power because the revolution led to the overthrowing of other kings and queens in the world. On September 5th, 1793, The Terror was added to the agenda. That's why the revolution was important. I find learning about the French Revolution interesting and fun. I don't really know why the people liked Necker though. When her brother visited the court he commented disapprovingly that she had bad manners and was not doing her job. She insisted on going out alone or with a few companions, instead of surrounded by attendants. You will find it that way too, if you're like me. It's just a well-known rumor from the city-people who really hated her. The first stage of the war was the storming of the Bastille. The reason the people tried to seize the Bastille was because all of the king's troops were marching around Paris and making the people nervous. He neglected his royal duties in favor of hunting and working in his locksmith shop.
