Religion and philosophy

             Who am I you ask? I am an individual who speaks his own mind and lives his own life. People in this world take things for granted. Using resources that should be untouched, taking over land thats beauty should be described in books, and bringing social justice to people who need no liberation. When we went in to this religion and philosophy class I did not have much understanding of other religions and other cultures ways of life. I knew enough to get me by, but when I look at some of the religious cultures that have been taken over by capitolistic movements, it really makes me think. We talked about the country of Tibet. I did not know anything about Tibet, besides the fact that they were a country that chose to be apart from society. They had their own ways of life, they did not use human resources, everything they used was natural. They built there own structures by hand which some are still standing today. What I did not know about Tibet is that they were taken over by the Chinese and were attempted to be forced in to a way of life they had never seen before. They were forced out of their own homes and where they had been for centuries. The amazing part about this, is that they did this without a fight. You see this is who I am, of course me and Tibet are a lot different, but we both know that fighting solves nothing, the only thing it does is create more problems. When obsticles get in the way, I don't dodge them, I let them go through me because that was the way life was meant to be. In my heart, I know that the universe will tend to unfold itself and everything will be right again.
             If religion taught me one thing, it would be a better understanding of the meaning of human life. Previous to class my best understanding of it is we were born to die, in the meanwhile we make money, thats how life goes. But there is more than that, life should not be about materialistic possesions. It should be about self satisfaction, no one else...
