Lost and Alone
It's been 7 days since we have been stranded on this island. I can not remember the faces of civilization, nor do I recall home. Everyday, my class and I continue to struggle in a fight between the fittest and survival. Of course all of us have read Lord of the Flies, prior to this situation; therefore we know what our responsibilities are. First of all, I would like to point out that Clay and Tim have been elected leaders. There were many arguments between the guys; especially Dominic, but he was not elected. Never-the-less, I am glad we choose Clay and Tim as the male's leaders. Sarji was also highlighted as a leader for intelligence, but no one chose him because he was snobby and disliked upon the group. For the girls, we too have two leaders, Margo and Sara. This decision did not surprise me, but I can not say I dislike them as leaders. I, myself would have elected someone over Sara, but having these two as the female commanders is out of my choice. So in the end, we have four leaders, Margo and Sara to representative the girls, and Clay and Tim for the boys. On the first day it was made clear that we needed shelter and food. It was our primary objective to scourge for food, and return to th
We did not plan to stay here long, so we did not think of long term involvements on this island. God's wish was to take us home and everyone had a good night's of rest. Because we have only explored parts of the island, the beach was our best shelter; safe and away from the jungles. The entire island was about a mile long, North to South and about 3 quarters of a mile from West to East. On the other hand, the crash site was weird. On day two, everyone explored the entire island. With a whole day's of work, we built approximately four new locations for shelters; one on each of the four peninsulas. Of course the fire was still burning bright, thus we did not need to make a fire. Lucky fruit trees were found, and a few pig's pen was discovered. No caves or any special land formation was located, but a semi-large mountain on this island. In the morning it was still burning and up until we returned in the afternoon, the site was still burning? It seemed as if the fire would never go out, but that was beneficial to us because we did not have to make a fire for smoke signals, nor do we need to make a cooking fire. What we found on the island amazed us. Smoke was visible; therefore it could be seen a mile away. After a long discussion, we came till two agreements.
