Every country has a foreign policy. This is what is officially done by a government in its relations with other countries. Many Canadians believe that a truly independent Canada must develop a foreign policy that reflects Canada's national interests. While others hold the view that Canadians should develop a foreign policy based more on global concerns. The goals of foreign policy are to promote sovereignty, social justice, economic growth, and there are many others. I believe that the significant development of a global perspective is necessary to insure our sovereignty and unique identity. Canada's immigration policy is based on attracting immigrants all over the world, these immigrants help contribute to the development of the country. The Canadian foreign affair minister has sent aid to poorer countries for economic development and radiation of poverty. Canada has committed itself to peaceful democratic changes in developing countries, for instance in Afghanistan, Iraq, and many countries in Africa. In conclusion, I belief that I have clearly stated my position on the Canadian foreign policy. The Canadian government is also supporting to band anti-personal mines anywhere in the world, because it kills innocent people. For example, Canadian peace keepers were sent to Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, Korea, Angola, Cambodia, and Korea. Canada has responded to natural disasters around the globe, by providing food, tents, medical supply, and clean drinking water. Immigrants increase the population and produce more people in the work force. Canadian armed forces are helping and preserving peace around the world. Canada provides food aid to economically challenged countries in Africa and Asia. Canadian foreign policy should be based to the extent of building nuclear power plants, for the electricity use in poorer countries around the globe. Canada has constructed national parks to preserve forests, wildlife, and has prohibited development in the area. Canada has created economic disparity in developing countries, by closing trade relations with China and India. Recently Canada contributed three hundred million to Iraq. Canada in the twentieth century will have a unique identity all over the globe.
