The Great Gatsby tells us of a man named Jimmy Gats, known as Gatsby. So then he realizes without these things he can't have Daisy Buchanan. He leaves home, changes his name, and re-creates himself as a suburban gentleman. Throughout the novel, Amory Blaine, who resembles Scott, struggles to interpret the changing world in which he lives and to find a means to those changes. The other two books he wrote during the era were The Beautiful and the Damned, and The Great Gatsby. Scott Fitzgerald: The American Dreamer. He says "Beauty and love pass, I know. In the 1920's Jazz gained its popularity. The novel judges and favors society, and finds it guilty of a criminal reliance toward the rest of the world.
