Primary support systems
Nobody sees a flower-really-it is so small it takes time-we haven't time-and to see takes time, likes to have a friend takes time. When I take a look at myself and review the systems in my world, there are two that stand out the most, but one that prevails as my primary support system. This particular support system consist of 4 women, three of whom I have been friends with for 13 years and one whom we've been friends for seven. Besides these women, my "immediate" family which consist of my fiance, my children and my father are secondary my secondary support system. Why my friends prevail over my immediate family is because when the pressure mounts up to satisfy the needs of my "immediate", it's my friends who are there to help. My six year old is daughter is at the age where she argues with her friends one day and they are not speaking the next. These women provide me with support and motivate me to aspire to great heights. My 12 year old son is at an age where his relationships with his early childhood friends are developing. When I began at Metropolitan College my schedule called for me to attend one day during the week and on Saturday. " In the case of my friends and I the old African proverb, "It takes a whole village to raise a child" is definitely true. I appreciate these women because I can be myself whenever I am in their presence.
