Psycho

Alfred Hitchcock's film Psycho is known as a classic. It was nominated for four Academy Awards and changed movies forever. It is hard to see how a person could not like it and not appreciate it, even in modern times.In the film a woman named Marion comes across and steals forty thousand dollars, and on her run from the law comes to a gruesome death, it is up to her sister and boyfriend to discover her murderer.One of the reasons Psycho is such a great movie and what makes it better than modern day horror movies is that it has not only violence, it also has a great plot.The plot is written in such a way that the audience gets distracted by it and is in a state of shock when Marion


This is said to be because of a tight budget, but the lack of colour ads to the dark atmosphere of the film. Without the music and sound, the famous "Shower Scene" in Psycho is ineffective. The ending of Psycho seems rushed and unbelievable. His performance was impressive and a highlight for the movie. This one scene terrified audiences so much in 1960 that some people could not shower again after seeing it. Anthony Perkins played a neurotic character named Norman Bates. The music in Psycho is outstanding; the frantic paced screeching violins really bring a sense of fear into the movie. The story also keeps the audience guessing. Psycho is the kind of movie that should be in everyone's collection. Even though Psycho is such a "ground-breaking" movie, it was not perfect. It has a great story with a plot that keeps you guessing , gothic atmosphere which brings the movie to life, classic music with the frantic paced screeching violins, good acting in particularly by Anthony Perkins and of course, the legendary shower scene. The scene shows Marion being killed. By withholding information from the audience, Hitchcock lets the audience speculate what is going to happen. The actors in Psycho are obviously very talented.
