             Past Experiences and Future Expectations
             Throughout my years of education, I have always been one that excels in the majority of my subjects. With literature being one of my favorites, I truly believe that enrolling in College English was the right choice.
             I understand the stress and utter difficulty of this course and the time that I must sacrifice in order to achieve the results that I desire. However, I know that it will benefit me more than it will hurt me. By taking College English I hope that I can gain a more extensive vocabulary and improve my writing skills. I feel that I already have an "edge" on writing, but the practice would be good for me. With a positive mindset and a strong focus on my work, I know I can succeed in this class.
             Up until 8th grade, English was always just another class for me. I found it almost boring and at points, lacked complete interest. However, Mr. Weizer was able to breathe life back into me. Not only did he teach the class well, but he made it a fun learning experience for everyone. With classic literature, plays, and a few songs successfully caught my full attention. My freshman, sophomore, and junior English classes were all beneficial in their own ways.
             In 9th grade, Mrs. H____ showed me a very unique style of teaching by applying the events in the works to events in our everyday lives. This made the class more energetic and excited about reading. What most students would find boring, I found appealing. In 10th grade Mr. Smith would lead us in deep, thoughtful class discussions. During these talks he would broadly go over the sections that we had read. I found this to be more helpful than anything I have previously done in my past English classes because it helped give us a greater understanding of the story, and what the author was trying to get us to perceive.
