Should Caucasians Pay for the Racial Discrimination? America today is a great country for all different religions and nationalities. However this method has not always been the same way, what we enjoy in today's world is the result of people suffering in the past, losing their blood, families, and basically all they had in order to obtain human rights and human dignity. Many still believe that the rights given to people are still not sufficient, and we are still on the path of real freedom.African-Americans and Native Americans are the communities that have suffered in the past because of the racial discrimination and the greed of Americans for land. As Lincoln said July 10, 1858 at a speech in Chicago, Illinois, " I leave you, hoping that the lamp of liberty will burn in you bosoms until there shall no longer be a doubt that all men are created free and equal ". Granted in today's world a mule and 40 acres of land would not be a logical thing to give the African Americans, but we should still give them something for the way we brutally treated them and took all there dignity away, it my not be big or small but something to compensate for the things we promised them over one hundred years ago. There is no amount of money that can replace the lives lost or the land we have taken from them. k or talk like them, at first they thought they had accidentally settled in Spice Islands, which is now present day Indonesia and India, yet they came across a new land, where they confronted people not used to European way of life. Both the whites and the Indians neglected to abide by the rules. Since the beginning of our great country we had slaves, and we used them all the way up to the end of the Civil War. " Passed in 1834, promised the Native Americans that all the land west of the Mississippi was one big Indian Reservation. Although after the war we promised the blacks one mule and 40 acres of land, which to this day still never received what they were promised. We will never fully give back on what we have taken away from these people or the pain and suffering that they had to go through to achieve what they have so respectfully earned today. The "New" Americans brutally went to war with the Native Americans: raping and killing the women and children, and forcing the natives to move westward. We treated the slaves inhumanely by whipping them, splitting them away from their families, and treating them with no dignity, and this continued even after the Civil War had ended. The explorers found this land with great opportunity and decided to make a settlement. By the 1850's the story had changed, the government abandoned the "one big reservation" idea and divided the tribes into smaller tribes and assigned them smaller, individual plots of land. This in turn caused even more problems because of the new Native Americans moving westward were going into other claimed land, which caused war amongst the Native Americans.
