Descriptive Essay

             Growing up as a child I loved the hot weather and the humid weather of where I lived. It was in Florida that I could recall all of my memories such as sight, sound, smell, and touch. But with all of these memories of where I lived one place stands out in my mind the most, the beach.
             As a child I would wait eagerly for the weekends to come so my parents could take me to the beach. On the end of land there is a vast ocean. With tides that come and go and waves that break in different parts of the ocean.
             The ocean was filled with sights that could tame the eye. Huge waves breaking and crashing. It was like the water was dancing or showing a fit of anger daring a person to look on. The bubbles in the ocean reminded me of taking a bubble bath every time I looked on. When I looked at the ocean I saw a vast and enormous amount of blue, as far as the eye could see. I sometimes wondered where the ocean ended and what was out there.
             The sound of the beach calmed me and reminded me of my peaceful days growing up. The water fizzled and slapped against the sand. I heard the water and felt as if it was trying to speak with me. But it was calm and did not let me here the secrets that it held within. I heard that if a person held a seashell to their ear it would sound like the ocean. Being curious I picked up a shell and held it to my ear to see if this was true. It was not. Nothing sounded like the ocean and the shell didn't fill my mind with all sorts of emotions as actually being there and experiencing it. I would often fall asleep at night and remember what the ocean sounded like so I would sleep with ease.
             I think that my smell of the ocean will always be with me. The salt was the exact same as if a person bought it from the store and sprinkled it all over the water. The breeze smelled fresh, very different from where I lived in the city. The salt from the water mixed into the air creating a smell
