Irony between Band of Brothers&Prisoners w/o Trial w biblio

Nowadays almost all constitutions and other documents regulating law in different countries speak first of all about human rights and state the rights of a person above everything. The leader and one of the first countries to state and protect human rights was the USA, of course. Its army and leaders always declared that they are protecting human rights all over the world. But isn't it really ironical that this country, while struggling for observance of human rights of ethnical minorities and other oppressed people in Europe was turning to hell life of Japanese Americans living in its territory? Let's analyze this situation that occurred during the World War II on the basis of two sources: "Prisoners without Trial" by Roger Daniels and "Band of Brothers" by Stephan Ambrose."Band of Brothers" offers us a very informative and at the same time very touching story about American young people participating in World War II, about their daily life, how they learned to survive, to support each other and about other aspects of wartime. The author shows us life of 506 regiment of 101 airborne unit of USA army before and after the invasion into Channel Islands. The impact of the work is increased by the stories of witnesses

History can be rather ironical to us, and especially at war times, and the two above-mentioned books tell about different sides of war and different situations. What is most ironical, it is that at the same time, during World War II, the USA army was also defending the rights of other ethnical minorities in Europe. I dare say "the nation" because the whole Congress voted for this order, and there weren't a single vote against it. These victories, combined with racism, created a war hysteria. But a lot of scientists also consider the day when the President signed the order forcing Japanese Americans to relocate also the "infamy day", the day of infamy for the whole nation, leaders and citizens of which claimed liberty and human rights to be a basis of their constitution and at the same time were supporting such decisions, violating the basis of their Constitution. After Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and the USA declared was with Japan, all Japanese Americans (70% of which were born in America and have never been to Japan) were moved into special camps, called "relocation centers". the US army indeed made a significant contribution into the victory over fascism. Both books are informative and contain historical facts, which show us that even the country that has the highest values of democracy and is the world's leader in observance of human rights had its own difficulties and "black marks" on this way. The author was not trying to glamorize war, and exaggerate the role of American soldiers in it, but he succeeded in showing people's life in difficult period and how they managed to get through it. The film is rather closely following the plot of the book and reveals the story of the heroic so-called "Easy campaign". Roosevelt called the day of Pearl Harbor "a date that will live in infamy". " At the same time "Prisoners without Trial" tell us about the opposite case, the decision which was called "The USA's biggest black mark" and showed the how the nation actually cultivated racism and violated the very pivot of American constitution: personal liberties and freedom.
