Is cultural integration necessary for Immigrants?

Persuasive Essay - Is cultural integration necessary for Immigrants living in the United States of America?According to "The foreign- Born Population in the United States: 2003" report by the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2003 there were 33.5 million foreign born people living in the United States. This number represents "11.7 percent of the U.S. population" (U.S Census Bureau 1), a significant part of the American culture. The question I will try to answer in this paper is whether or not immigrants, or foreign born residents of the United States should adapt the American culture. I will not only examine the popular opinions and general trends, but also will evaluate the legal situation for immigrants and the conditions under which admission into the USA is granted. Through my previous visa process, I learned that there are behavioral standards that are expected of immigrants, which do in part include the adaptation of American values and believes. I have to strongly disagree with this statement. When putting this in context to the 53. In this matter integration becomes a vital part of starting a new life. For example, women in Iran do not have the right to vote, yet as an immigrant in the United States you most certainly can vote after naturalization (reaching of citizenship status) (U. I do believe though that these retained traditions from one's home country have to be seen in the right context, personal leisure and enjoyment. The United States do not have an official language, contrary to common believe this factor was never established in any government publication. S Census Bureau 1), where the main language is Spanish, with the exception of Brazil with Portuguese being the official language, one has to ask how important the language is regarding culture.
