The Spice of Life
In her sparkly brand new kitchen, Kimmy retrieves her favorite cookbook from the cabinet. Her taste buds dance in her mouth as she prepares to "whip up" a scrumptious Lemon Zest bunt cake. As she reaches below her counter and grasps the handle of the cabinet that contains her mixing bowls, she is flustered to find that it will not open. The crease in between her brows deepens as she gives it three more tugs. She squats down in front of the cabinet door, grasps the handle of the cabinet with both hands, plants her feet firmly in the tile floor, and pulls with all her might. She hears a little cracking sound and then, Wham, she painfully felt one with the pretty tile floor. Well, at least it's open, she thinks to herself as she realizes that the "professional" painters let the paint on the cabinets dry shut. She shrugs, extracts her mixing bowl, and pulls herself to her feet. After she has all her bowls, pans, and utensils ready; she aims for the ingredients. Once she has most of her ingredients ready she finds she is missing a few key ingredients to her mouth watering recipe. As a student might think that they can take time off and realize that when they come back to school that they are way behind and might not want to even try any more. That totals eighty-four dollars just to register for the class. If one wants to succeed one must manage their time wisely and realize that college is not just a bigger High School. To have the sense of pride one would feel once they have graduated after all the hard work and tribulations. Being torn between two people that he loves very much was hard on him and he wasn't able to concentrate in any of his classes, let alone his homework. Reason being that it is very hard to concentrate while you are in mourning. She was left with the financial responsibility of taking care of her brothers and sister, as well as her own son. Another reason why a student might drop out of college is because of a few personal issues. Some of the main reasons why students drop out of college is because of family problems, personal issues, and/or financial difficulties. She was doing great until her third semester in college a tragic thing had happened to her: her mother passed away. The average college student works to cover the cost of college. Also if the student is taking five classes and has homework for all classes, it would be wise if the homework was spread out instead of doing it all the night before. Transportation could also be another personal issue that would result in a person dropping out of college. As opposed to the lucky student who has parents or a parent that pays for them to attend college.
