Literature of sports and Games (Serious Litrerature)

             Throughout this semester I have learned a lot about serious literature. I have come to believe that serious literature is based on people lives and the hardships that they encounter. Serious literature also in many cases shows how the individual handle certain situations. Literary works can range from novels, short stories, epics plays and poetry but no matter how the literature is written they still are portraying some for a real life situation. These real life circumstances can be from the past and present times. Not all literary works that you read may apply to your life, but they may apply to someone else's or could even be an event that has happened. Even if doesn't tie with your life it will always be a situation that you can relate it to or understand that this could really happen if it hasn't already. In Samuel Beckett's play the Endgame the characters in the play have a huge fear of dying and resurrection after death. I know myself that ever since I have been a little girl I have always been afraid of dying and I know may people who fear this as well. Even though we all know that it is inevitable and is going to happen one day, we fear the unknown rather then the way we are actually going to die.
             Samuel Beckett's wrote the play Endgame which was written in Paris in the 1950's.
             Winning and Losing what does that really mean. Is it only about sports, gambling, or any types of games or does it have a bigger meaning then that? Although winning an losing has to do with all of those things, the theme of winning and losing I believe has to deal with the game of life. Life isn't perfect and you never know if you're going to be a winner or a loser. In life people may come across many challenges, but one has to find it within themselves to rise above the occasion and determine themselves if they are going to be a winner or not.
