World War II

From 1929-1945, the United States was going through a difficult time. Because of rising Dictatorships around the world, the US was pressured to join in World War II. A quote that is time period, "...I believe it is peace for our time. Go home and get a nice quite sleep," can be falsified by reasons such as the violent actions taken by leaders in the war, the obligation of the people on the home front, and the circumstances that the Depression and the War caused people to be in. Violence in World War II was completely inevitable. It started because of a series of actions taken by rising dictatorships around the world. First, Adolf Hitler began to take over the German political system. In 1921 he assumed control of the National Socialism or Nazi party which then led him to also becoming the Chancellor of Germany in 1933. This gave him the power to have control of the German people. After this, he spread his anti-Semitist and fascist views and began the slaughter of millions of Jews. These were some of the most violent actions of this time period and it was the first step for the rein of terror to begin. Another country who was becoming a rising power would be Japan. Japan, under the control of Hideki Tojo, formed an alliance with

They had to stay and serve their country until their service was over. These men and women who worked back home were just as dedicated and loyal as people who went out to fight. America could not have won the war without the continuous supply of goods and the people back home produced the goods not by sleeping, but by working and working until the last day of the war. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep" could not be used to accurately describe World War II. These people could not go home and get a nice quiet sleep but rather go to a factory or farm and work for their country in the best manner that they could. The jobs were not in the least bit easy either. Also in 1945 was the atom bomb, which the US dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki that killed thousands of civilians. For a lot the people that lived in the World War II era, going home was a dream that could not be fulfilled. Germany which would lead to the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Conditions in factories were not acceptable and many people died on the job. This was the most important aspect of the war effort and the long hours that these people put into their job made insufficient time for sleep. Thousands of people were killed in this ordeal which also caused America to have a change of heart and come out of isolationism and take part in World War II. World War II and the Great Depression put people in a position that did not allow many to have homes.
