The old adage, “it’s not what you know but who you know” is very true. In essence, a college degree is highly valued because it opens many doors that may otherwise remain locked. It is something that will serve you well throughout your career and throughout your life. I believe that getting my college degree will make me a better person. Some people might say that you can earn good money without a college degree if you get the right certifications or experience. I do not want to belittle the Associate’s degree I received because I worked extremely hard to achieve it; however, I have made the decision now to pursue a Bachelor’s degree. An individual maximizes his or her marketability in the business arena by being in possession of a college degree. Finally, I thoroughly believe a college degree will enhance my status as a professional – which translates into economic stability, and a fulfilling, rewarding experience in whatever field of endeavor I choose to work.

In a practical sense, I can learn today and put into practice what I learn in my work environment, in terms of time management, critical thinking, as well as conflict resolution skills. Besides, I will obtain a sense of satisfaction in knowing that I was able to complete my degree. I am invigorated by rediscovering how much I really enjoyed learning different things; I am excited about returning to school – opening my mind to new ideas and opportunities. Another benefit of a college education is the increased earning potential associated with a college degree.

The advantages offered through online classes allows me the flexibility of being able to work full time, be a parent, be a wife, and a student at the same time. It is a valuable commodity because it embodies a sense of accomplishment and pride.
