One major object that stands/represents our culture is a ring in which 2000 team received following their championship season. Eating dinner together brought unity and it also brought us encouragement from the mothers/fathers as they would tell us “Good Luck!” or “We all know you can do it!” But to see our friends, families, and supporters line the streets, it would make us want it more, not just for our selves, but for them too. Just by going up to Drug Mart, a local convenient store in town, you could hear little conversations about the upcoming game or the game from Friday night. During that summer, I kicked almost every day. But it is hard to believe what a ring can do for a culture or community. Upon arriving at the stadium, this rush entered my body like never before. The game started off great as we pulled out to a 14-0 lead with about 11:29 left on the clock. Not everyone can go through the heat and intensity of two-a-day workouts. Two-a-day workouts are like nothing else in high school sports. With 10,000 fans screaming as both teams entered the stadium, the atmosphere was like no other.
From there on in, football was my life. Like said before, football takes the certain person to strap on that equipment and go out in the heat almost everyday and do what they do. As I stood there, I knew all the spotlight was on me, knowing the fate of my team was in my hands. I would always tell them yes and sit there and talk to them for a good five or ten minutes asking them if they play football or not and support them about playing football because someday they could be a part of “Friday Night Lights.
