Homeschool
Society has a negative view towards our nation's public schools. It seems that every morning the media is showing an image of a violence in our schools or another statistic of poor test scores. However, public schools provide students with a supreme education opportunity compared to home school. Students educated through the public school system receive an accredited diploma, learn social skills, and are taught by trained educators. The most important advantage that public schools provide students with is an accredited diploma. This is significant if a student plans to pursue their education. How can a student learn these skills with a family member? They can't. The most important social aspect that students in public school learn is diversity. Students in public schools see the same people every day that are not members of their family. Much of this is due to the parent's lack of knowledge. Home school students are not provided this opportunity, again because they are surrounded by family. However, many parents are finding that home schooling is not a proper alternative to public schooling. Public schools provide students with valuable social lessons. Because of the negative attention that public schools receive, society is looking past the positive aspects of our country's public schools. Colleges frown upon this because professors cannot provide students with individual attention. Children attending public school must also learn how to work with each other. In a home school setting students often are only interacting with family members. Students that attend a public school are granted a superior education opportunity. Not only are students taught conflict resolution, but they are taught how to interact with one another. Home school students are often not taught everything that public school students are.
