play it smart

Most advertisements that you come across in magazines, television, and radio are geared towards one specific agegroup. The advertisement I have chosen seems to be geared specifically towards students who want to get an education, but also wants to participate in sports while obtaining a higher education. The ad could also be used to attract some kids who really want to participate in sports, but are not really to sure about attending college. By portraying a fun, energetic image of college, it may persuade those types of students to at least give it a try.The advertisement portrays a young girl smiling and laughing while holding a book and leaning on a volleyball, with the words "Play It Smart" in big, bold text

In the ad the girl is wearing a couple pieces of jewerly, but nothing to flashy. Overall the girl is dressed rather casual and portrays an image of a fun, and relaxed environment. More then just the prestige of recieiving an honors scholarship or taking honors classes, it gives me great support. Balancing school and volleyball can be a hard act, but the honors staff is always there to steady me when things get too difficult. she wants in school, "I wanted a college where I could prepare for medical school and continue my athletic career. In the ad the girl describes how helpful and supportive the staff can be if things become too difficult. successful in school, while still being able to compete on the volleyball team and have access to all the support she may need. One neat thing I found here was the IUPUI honors program. The ad seems to be targeting a wide range of people who have a general interest in particiapting in sports while attending college. I don't' think persuading young people is very hard to do, you just have to put some interesting facts, some images that are eye catching, and their hooked. I would think that most potential students that are looking at this ad for the very first time are going to think that if someone like her can do it, then why can't I. The ad may also be targeting some students that are really interested in the sports aspect of college, but are not really sure if they can succeed in a college environment. It may be just enough to help convince some potential students that they can participate in sports and receive a college education. She seems to be very happy in the choices she has made for herself by attending IUPUI.
